Gaffey Street Diner! San Pedro, CA

monks: If we ever get the other pictures up you'll see we stalked the owner on youtube, found him at the diner and asked him to take a picture with us! We stopped here for breakfast on our way to San Diego. While it's your typical breakfast items with a lot of Latin influence the big WOW is how everything is made in house right down to the sauces, salsas, biscuits you name it!
Had to get the biscuits and gravy with home fries =) Pretty yummy!
Eggs benedict! Who doesn't love some hollandaise?!
And of course I got the chorizo and eggs...loved the salsa, chili sauce and rice =) I forget if those are beans...haha it's been so long...
Tapped out and cleaned out...top left is a chicken sandwich but it was pretty basic...

I loved the place, good hearty breakfast...yummy food with a homemade taste...just kinda out of the way from everything! Thumbs up!

Pink's! We Made It! (Barely!)

monks: So...Pink's! Okay, in all honesty, this place has got nothin' on Fab's! But...it's a cultural icon and has been on enough shows that I'm glad we made it on the trip. I've attempted to go to Pink's 3 times I think and always called it quits. This night we went to a bar, Cat and The Fiddle? I forget...which happen to be nearby Pink's! So on the way home we decided to try...It was almost 2 or maybe 1:45 which is right around when it closes! So as we park we notice the line is really short! (because it's closing)...and as we get in line they turn the sign light off! Oh no! But they let the last few people cram inside to order! Unfortunately, the menu was on the oustide board! But oh well, we were there for the experience, so the choice of ordering chili cheese dogs wasn't such a bad one! I think one was a chili cheese hot dog, the other a chili cheese hot link? or polish dog? geez, I don't remember...
monks: You can see how the light is turned off already! Would I go to Pink's again, probably not just because I don't want to wait in line. If there was no line, or a short line I wouldn't mind trying some of their other dogs...It was defintely tasty though!
